Dorset based ceramic artist Holly Ross recently graduated from Bournemouth University where her whimsical 'Wonderland Wonders' collection was born.
Inspired by all sorts of things like Islamic architecture, bird cages and fairy tales she has developed a collection of charming ceramic pieces. She uses many ceramic surface techniques like piercing, carving, shellac resist and imprinting objects to create her wonderful work and her use of ceramic transfers on the inside of the piece create wonderful mysterious shadowy effects when the lamps are illuminated.
No two pieces are exactly alike. Each of the bird cages is adorned with a decorative chain and a twinkling charm.
